ESL has officially announced the launch of DreamLeague Division II, a new tier of competitive Dota 2 aimed at supporting up-and-coming teams across Europe and CIS. The move expands the existing DreamLeague structure and provides a clear developmental pathway for rosters seeking to break into the international tier-one scene.
Division II will feature a separate league format, with its own prize pool, weekly matches, and broadcast coverage. While it won’t grant direct access to major LAN events, top-performing teams will earn a chance to compete in promotion series for a spot in Division I of the DreamLeague circuit. The format is designed to spotlight rising talent while giving organizations more reason to invest in long-term roster development.
This initiative also arrives at a time when many tier-two Dota teams have struggled with visibility and financial sustainability. ESL’s expansion aims to fill that gap, offering a more structured ecosystem and increased exposure for aspiring pros.
A New Pathway to Pro
DreamLeague Division II is set to begin its inaugural season later this year, with qualifiers expected to open in the coming months. For the European Dota scene, this marks a welcome boost - and for young talent, a new stage to prove they belong.
