Rust Console Next - Gen Version Fully Releases with Overhauled Engine

After months of anticipation, the Rust Console Edition - Next Gen has officially launched for all players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The full release brings significant improvements across visuals, performance, and stability, delivering a smoother and more responsive survival experience tailored to modern hardware.

Players can expect drastically reduced loading times, enhanced draw distances, and more stable frame rates during high-density PvP encounters. The engine overhaul also addresses long-standing bugs and syncing issues that plagued the last-gen version, making the game feel noticeably more fluid on console for both solo players and large teams.

Early access holders had a week-long head start beginning June 19, but as of June 26, the next-gen version is now live for all eligible console users. Servers are expected to see a major population spike over the coming days as returning players and new survivors drop in to explore the wasteland.

Console Rust Evolves

With the technical foundation now upgraded, Rust Console is better positioned to receive future content updates and events in parallel with the PC version. The wipe cycle continues - but now, it looks and plays better than ever.
