Liquid Bench siuhy as JT Takes Over CS2 Leadership

Team Liquid have made another major change to their Counter-Strike 2 roster, benching Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and signing Johnny "JT" Theodosiou as their new in-game leader.

The move brings siuhy's 15-month spell in Liquid's active lineup to an end and gives the international organization another new direction heading into the second half of 2026.

JT's arrival also reunites him with Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, with whom he previously spent several years competing under Complexity.

Liquid's siuhy Project Never Reached Expectations

siuhy arrived at Liquid in April 2025 with an impressive reputation.

His work with GamerLegion and MOUZ had established him as one of the most highly regarded young in-game leaders in Counter-Strike.

The same level of success never materialized with Liquid.

The team struggled for consistency throughout his tenure and suffered repeated early tournament exits.

Liquid's T sides became a particular concern, with the team ranking among the weaker sides in the professional scene in that area during 2026.

Their latest Major campaign did little to restore confidence, ending with a 2-3 exit during Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne Major.

Liquid have now decided another leadership change is necessary.

JT Returns to Tier-One Leadership

JT brings a very different profile.

The South African in-game leader spent years at the heart of the Complexity project and developed a reputation for building disciplined teams capable of competing against considerably more expensive rosters.

His arrival is particularly interesting because of his existing relationship with EliGE.

The pair played together during Complexity's strongest period, meaning Liquid are not simply bringing in an unfamiliar caller and hoping the pieces fit.

There is already a proven working relationship inside the new lineup.

Second Major Change of the Off-Season

JT is not Liquid's only new player.

Earlier this month, the organization benched Polish AWPer ultimate and signed Bulgarian prospect Jorko.

Viktor "flashie" Bea remains behind the team as coach.

On paper, there is considerable firepower.

NAF remains one of Counter-Strike's most dependable players, EliGE provides experience and aggression, malbsMd offers elite mechanical potential, and Jorko enters the team as an exciting young AWPer.

The job of turning those pieces into a functioning unit now belongs to JT.

No Easy Debut

Liquid will not have much time to ease into their new system.

Their next major appearance comes at BLAST Bounty Season 2, where the rebuilt roster is scheduled to face Vitality.

That represents an immediate test against one of the strongest teams in the world.

After another disappointing period, Liquid are once again pressing the reset button.

This time, they are betting on JT to make the pieces fit.
