Team Spirit Make Dota 2 History With Third The International Championship

Team Spirit have done what no organization in Dota 2 history had ever done before.

They are three-time champions of The International.

Spirit defeated PARIVISION 3-2 in an extraordinary Grand Final in Shanghai to capture The International 2026 and lift the Aegis of Champions for the third time.

The victory adds TI 2026 to Spirit's previous championships from 2021 and 2023.

And for Yatoro and Collapse, it represents an individual achievement without precedent.

They are now the first players in Dota 2 history to win The International three times.

Five Games to Decide the Champion

There was no easy route to the trophy.

The Grand Final went the full five games as Spirit and PARIVISION traded blows with the biggest title in Dota on the line.

PARIVISION entered the final after an outstanding tournament and had already proven themselves capable of beating Spirit during the playoff stage.

Spirit, meanwhile, had been forced to fight through the lower bracket.

Their route back included victories over Team Liquid and BetBoom Team before earning another opportunity against PARIVISION in the championship match.

This time, Spirit finished the job.

The fifth and deciding game lasted approximately an hour, with neither team willing to give up the chance to lift the Aegis.

Eventually, Spirit broke through.

Final score:

Team Spirit 3-2 PARIVISION.

Yatoro and Collapse Stand Alone

The victory creates a new category in Dota history.

Before today, several legendary players had won The International twice.

Nobody had won it three times as a player.

Yatoro and Collapse now have.

Both were members of Spirit's breakthrough TI10 championship roster in 2021.

They won again at The International 2023.

Now, five years after their first Aegis, the pair have lifted a third.

For Yatoro in particular, the achievement strengthens an already formidable argument for his place among the greatest carry players Dota has ever produced.

Collapse's legacy is equally remarkable.

His career will forever be associated with some of the most iconic offlane performances in TI history, and he now has three championships to accompany them.

Spirit's Dynasty Keeps Evolving

What makes Spirit's achievement even more impressive is that this is not exactly the same roster that won those earlier championships.

Players have changed.

Roles have changed.

Even the team's leadership structure has evolved, with former captain Miposhka now coaching the roster rather than competing as its position-five player.

The organization has still remained capable of rebuilding around its championship core and returning to the very top of Dota.

Spirit's first TI victory in 2021 felt like one of the greatest underdog stories the game had ever seen.

Their second proved the first was no accident.

The third changes the conversation entirely.

Three Aegises

The International has produced legendary organizations before.

Natus Vincere reached three consecutive Grand Finals during Dota's early years.

OG became the first team to win TI twice and the first to do it in consecutive years.

Spirit have now established another benchmark.

Three International championships.

No organization has ever owned more Aegises.

No players have ever won more than Yatoro and Collapse.

The Dota 2 world championship has existed for fifteen editions.

Team Spirit have now won three of them.

At this point, this is no longer merely a great team having another great tournament.

It is a dynasty.
